UCSI University’s Faculty of Applied Sciences is one of Malaysia’s leading hubs of scientific study. Established in 1999, the Faculty stands out for the quality of academic teaching and research in Biotechnology, Food Science, Nutrition and Aquatic Science.

 

Our Programmes


Versatility is a hallmark of the programme. Students will address critical issues in biotechnology through the study of molecular and cellular properties, biochemistry, genetic engineering, pharmacology, fermentation technology, and many others.
Our Food Science with Nutrition degree programme equips students with the scientific knowledge to develop innovative, safe and healthy food products; the ability to advice and provide nutritional information for individuals, and entrepreneurial skills to set up food- related business ventures.
Our programme encompasses a core nutrition component as well as wellness, entrepreneurship and marketing-related components to enable our graduates to be versatile.
Environmental issues such as eutrophication, habitat degradation and climate change threaten the sustainability of our aquatic resources. Responding to these threats our programme equips students with an interdisciplinary understanding of the structure and functioning of aquatic environments, as well as the know-how to develop solutions for an ever-changing planet.
Our Diploma programme equips students the know-hows of aquatic farming activities while incorporating entrepreneurship studies into the syllabus, as complementary knowledge. Interesting subjects covered in this programme includes Aquatic Ecosystem & Environmental Management, Management of Water Systems, and Business Essentials.
