The Diploma in Graphic Design provides students with a solid foundation in art and design, placing specific emphasis on Graphic Design. The programme focuses on equipping students with industry-related skills and technical knowledge to produce static visuals that communicate with their intended target markets.


Presentations, quizzes, tests, mid-term exams, final year exams, folio and assignments, among others.

SPM / SPMV Minimum 3 Credits
UEC Minimum 3 B’s
O-Level Minimum 3 C’s
SKM Pass Level 3 in Art & Design and minimum 1 credit in SPM
A Level Minimum 1 principal (E)
Sijil Kolej Komuniti (MQF Level 3) Pass in related field and minimum 1 credit in SPM
Sijil (MQF Level 3) Pass in related field (PNGK 2.0)
Other Equivalent Qualification Minimum CGPA 2.5
Diploma/ Certificate/ Equivalent Pass (Subject to school review of transcript, syllabus & portfolio)
Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM/A Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (Year 12) Minimum overall average of 50%
Other qualifications deemed equivalent to SPM/O Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (Year 11) Minimum overall average of 50%

* Pass Portfolio Assessment.
Submission of artwork, drawings or sculptures in the form of photographs or scanned pictures in a minimum of six (6) pieces for the Portfolio Assessment before programmes commencement.

English Requirements
  • A distinction (A+, A or A-) in the English Language subject at SPM/UEC level; or MUET Band 5; or a score of 196 (computer-based) / 525 (writing-based) / 69-70 (internet-based) in TOEFL; or Band 5.5 in IELTS.
  • In the event that the English Language Requirements are not met, student may be required to undertake additional English module(s) prior to or concurrently with the undergraduate programme, based on the University’s decision.
* International students holding equivalent academic qualifications but which are not conducted in English, are required to sit for the English Placement Test, which may result in the taking of the English Enrichment Programme (1 to 10 months). Students who intend to pursue the above undergraduate programme directly, are advised to fulfil the above English requirements prior to commencing their studies at the University.
Note / Legend Discretion is given to the Head of School to decide on applicants whose academic results are borderline to the entry requirements.

STPM principal – 'A' to 'C'
