A-Level Academy

1. What is the difference between A-Levels and the Foundation programme, and which is more suitable for me?
A-Levels provides students with a broad-based qualification. It is one of the most recognised pre-university qualifications and is accepted as proof of academic ability for entry into various competitive undergraduate programmes such as medicine, dentistry, law, engineering, pharmacy and actuarial science in institutions around the world.

On the other hand, the Foundation programmes provide a more focused progression route to a degree course offered by the same university.
2. Why do students take A-Levels at UCSI University?
UCSI University’s A-Level Academy has an excellent track record. Our top students have been awarded the Top A-Level Student Award for many consecutive years. Top-notch students choose to join UCSI University’s A-Level Academy and – in their myriad roles as exceptional role models – have created a competitive and challenging learning environment.

All lecturers at UCSI University’s A-Level Academy are experienced, dedicated and full-time subject specialists. We work in harmonious teams to prepare quality teaching resources to bring out the best in our students. Interactive and innovative teaching methodologies are also employed to meet the students’ learning needs.

In order to cultivate leadership and organisational skills, students are encouraged to participate in clubs and many extra-curricular activities such as the A-Level Student Association (SALSA), sports carnivals and field trips, among others. Apart from that, students are also exposed to hospital attachment programmes and community service campaigns, to name a few, as part of a holistic education.

A peer-facilitated and tutoring programme – known as the Will Group – is also available for students with below-average grades. This will assist them in terms of identifying their academic challenges, developing their study skills and motivating them in their studies.
