Biography

Nur Lina graduated with a Master of Arts (Performing Arts) from University Malaya, Malaysia. Prior to that, she earned a Graduate Diploma in Music Studies from the University of Tasmania, Australia, and a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Music from UCSI University, Malaysia. She also completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Teaching programme at UCSI University.   
 
Lina helms several managerial responsibilities within the Institute of Music at UCSI University. She has been Head of Programme for the Foundation in Music programme since 2015. She also holds auditor portfolios as an internal auditor and is appointed as Head of Faculty Internal Quality Assurance representing the institute at the university level. Lina is also the liaison person between the institute and other departments in the university such as the Student Enrolment Centre and University Trust for various administrative matters. 
 
In research, Lina progressively expands her knowledge and interests in a wide range of the fields of popular music, socio-psychology and culture. Her interest in popular music studies started when she attended her first music conference presenting about BTS’ music. Her heart has a special place for K-pop music, and she plans to continue to look at popular music studies in the areas of youth and well-being for her doctoral studies.
