Peter Ngu Ngok Hua

Biography

Peter Ngu was born in Tawau, Sabah. He is one of the MAPCU Scholarship receivers, which brought him to the University College Sedaya International, Malaysia (now known as UCSI University). He graduated in 2004, received his Bachelor of Music in Performance from The University of Newcastle, Australia. His later achievements included the Dip-ABRSM and LRSM music diploma in piano performance. Peter studied piano under the famous Malaysian pianist Loo Bang Hean, and he has performed in masterclasses given by Maxwell Cooke, Ng Chong Lim, Sohyun Ahn. Whilst at university, Peter has twice won Achievement’s Award and the best Accompanist Award in the singing competition (2004). 

Peter has been an active performer, both as soloist and piano accompanist. He has been invited to perform in numerous local national and international events. 

Peter is a keen music educator. He started teaching in UCSI university since 2007. Since then, he has taught at University of Malaya, music schools as well as privately. Besides examining and conducting masterclasses and workshops, Peter has also been invited to adjudicate in competitions.
