As the Festival of Lights, Deepavali is a time where Hindus celebrate the triumph of good over evil and the virtues of one’s own inner “light.” At UCSI University, we look forward to this time of year as a time to share the festivities with our Hindu friends as well as reflect on the essence of what makes us who we are. 

As you prepare for the festival, perhaps by lighting oil lamps, eating special foods or visiting friends, I encourage you to take the time to look inside yourselves and be thankful for the blessings you have received. Whether it be for your family, friends, talents or knowledge, everyone has something to be grateful for and acknowledging these gifts spreads positive energy with others.
