Student Disability Support

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, including those with disabilities. We encourage and instil a culture of empathy and understanding among faculty, staff and peers, creating a community where differences are celebrated.


Types of Disability

Disability

Disability refers to any condition of the body or mental impairment that makes the person more difficult to carry out their day-to-day activities.

These are common disabilities and medical condition:

  • Long term illness
  • Hearing loss
  • Epilepsy
  • Vision impairment
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Speech and language impairment
  • Spinal disorder
  • Mobility disability
  • Developmental disability (Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Learning disability (Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, etc.) 

Services

Services that Disability Support Office provide for students and staffs with disabilities:

Accessible accommodations

The university provides the nearest and closest accommodations for staffs and students who have disabilities for their own convenience.

Accessible parking

The university reserves ample parking spaces which are close to the campus entrance in order for staffs and students who have disabilities to park at the designated parking lots.

Wheelchair ramps

The university provides wheelchair for staffs and students to use with ramps available at the main entrance too.

Accessible restrooms

The university also specially designed accessible restrooms which make it easier for staffs and students who has disabilities to subsequently stand up.

Lift and Escalators

All the floors of our academic and administrative buildings are accessible using lifts and escalators.
