Overview
Fuel health. Inspire wellness. Empower lives.
Step into a career that merges science with care through UCSI University’s BSc (Hons) Nutrition with Wellness – a trailblazing programme that equips you to guide individuals and communities toward healthier, more balanced lives. From decoding the science of food and metabolism to understanding lifestyle interventions, wellness coaching and disease prevention, you’ll develop the knowledge and empathy to become a trusted health advocate.
You’ll explore how nutrition shapes physical and mental wellbeing, learn to assess dietary needs and design personalised nutrition plans and build the communication and entrepreneurial skills to make your voice heard in the booming wellness industry. Whether you dream of shaping health policy, leading wellness startups or empowering individuals through evidence-based nutrition, this programme is your launchpad to impact.

The BSc (Hons) Nutrition with Wellness at UCSI University is a multidisciplinary degree that bridges nutritional science, behavioural health and wellness promotion. The programme covers an integrated range of subjects including human nutrition, biochemistry, food safety, metabolic health, sports nutrition, community nutrition and dietary management of non-communicable diseases. At the same time, students develop competencies in wellness coaching, functional foods, complementary health practices and health communication strategies.
What sets this programme apart is its emphasis on both scientific rigour and practical wellness application. You’ll learn to assess dietary behaviours, analyse nutritional status and implement effective wellness interventions. With modules like Nutrition Through the Life Cycle, Nutritional Immunology and Nutrition and Mental Health, students gain insight into how food behaviour and environment intersect in shaping holistic health outcomes.
Beyond the classroom, students engage in real-world learning through community outreach, wellness campaigns and industry-based cooperative placements, exposing them to settings such as health centres, food companies, wellness retreats and NGOs. You’ll also gain entrepreneurial exposure, learning how to brand, market and deliver wellness services in a competitive and growing sector.
Assessment methods are diverse and application-oriented. Students are evaluated through written examinations, dietary planning assignments, nutrition assessments, case study presentations, group wellness projects, practical coaching simulations and a final-year research project – ensuring graduates are academically grounded and workplace-ready.
Graduates are well-prepared for careers in nutrition consultancy, health and wellness coaching, corporate wellness, community health promotion, functional food product development and public health education. Many also venture into private practice, social entrepreneurship or pursue postgraduate studies in research or our MSc Nutrition with Management.
