8 JunUCSI to set up fifth campus in Gamuda Gardens
RAWANG: UCSI has signed a memorandum of understanding with Gamuda Land to establish a new satellite campus within Gamuda Gardens, which will be the University’s fifth campus.
The campus, slated to open in Jan 2027, is designed to accommodate about 2,000 students and will have an initial built-up area of 66,000 sq ft, including 45 classrooms, a multipurpose hall, indoor basketball courts, as well as other learning and recreational facilities.
It will offer undergraduate programmes in business and management, creative arts, computer science, as well as electric vehicle and autonomous mobility.
Diploma and foundation programmes will also be available, with plans to expand offerings over time.
UCSI president and vice-chancellor Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir said the new campus would expand access to higher education in the Northern Klang Valley corridor.
“We look forward to the launch of UCSI’s fifth campus, and we are glad to partner with Gamuda Land in this effort,” she said.
“Both parties recognise the need to provide quality higher education offerings in Rawang and the Northern Klang Valley corridor.
“UCSI has always empowered local communities and improved life chances through accessible, high-quality education.
“We look forward to achieving the same impact here, and we will offer more programmes as the campus grows organically.”
She added that the announcement of UCSI’s fifth campus coincided with the University’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
The upcoming campus will add to UCSI’s existing campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Springhill and Bangladesh.
Gamuda Land chief executive officer Gim Teck Yew said the partnership would enhance the township’s long-term development.
“Education has always been a key component of our masterplan, alongside homes, parks, commercial offerings and community spaces,” he said.
“Integrating UCSI University into Gamuda Gardens create a more complete township that supports long-term community growth and economic vitality.”
Recently, UCSI also launched a major expansion of its Kuala Lumpur campus, featuring two new 38-storey blocks that will add around one million sq ft of operational space and accommodate more than 3,000 additional students.
Gamuda Land is the property development arm of Gamuda Bhd and one of Malaysia’s leading township developers.
It is best known for master-planned developments such as Kota Kemuning, Bandar Botanic and Jade Hills, as well as projects in Vietnam and Australia.
