An Advanced Diploma in Midwifery is a specialised programme designed for registered nurses. This programme aims to provide advanced training and skills specific to midwifery, focusing on the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period....
The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical training. Students will experience clinical rotations in hospitals, birthing centres and community settings to gain hands-on experience under supervision. The programme covers topics such as pharmacology in obstetrics, advanced maternal-fetal medicine, neonatal care and reproductive during pregnancy and childbirth.
Students will gain specialised knowledge by learning advanced clinical skills related to prenatal care, labour and delivery and postpartum care. This includes managing complications during childbirth and providing care to both the mother and the newborn.
Academic Requirements
Permitted for female candidates only
(a 20 hours lactation management course can be as pre-requisite or to be completed during the programme)
Malaysian Candidates
- Possess Diploma/Bachelor in Nursing from a recognised institute by MQA, registered with the MNB/MMB, possess current PC/RON for nurses from MNB, minimum twenty-four (24) months clinical working experience.
International Candidates
- Possess Diploma/Bachelor in Nursing from a recognised institution by accreditation body country of origin, and
- Registered with the Nursing Council of the country of origin, and
- Possess current TPC from MNB before clinical placement, and
- Minimum 24 months clinical working experience
