Therefore, the demand for graduates in Computer Science and Information Technology is increasing. Furthermore, the Foundation with Computer Science and Information Technology pathways equip students with skills such as analytical thinking, critical thinking and problem solving as well as computing knowledge, and practical skills needed to thrive in IR 4.0.

About the Programme

Integrating both coursework and written examinations, this programme incorporates a practice-oriented approach and furnishes students with relevant interesting, stimulating and hands-on experience via a variety of teaching methods and practical exercises. Different dynamic learning processes are employed in the delivery of this programme including lectures, tutorials, computer lab work, team-based projects, real-life system developments, presentations and independent projects, to name a few, supervised by both university lecturers and industry experts alike.

Foundation in Arts Leading To Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons) Mobile Computing and Networking

SPM

Pass with 5 credits including Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects.

O-levels

Minimum 5 credits (C) including Additional Mathematics/equivalent

UEC

Pass with minimum 3 credits (B6) including Additional Mathematics/equivalent

Other qualifications

Any other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

Foundation in Arts Leading to Bachelor of Computing (Hons)

SPM

Pass with 5 credits including Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects.

O-levels

Minimum 5 credits (C) including Mathematics

Pass with minimum 3 credits (B6) including Mathematics

Foundation in Arts Leading to BSc (Hons) Business Information Systems)

Foundation in Arts Leading to Bachelor of Computer Science in Data Science

SPM

Pass with 5 credits including Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects.

Minimum 5 credits (C) including Mathematics

UEC

Pass with minimum 3 credits (B6) including Mathematics

Other qualifications

Any other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

English Requirement for Foundation in Arts

  • Candidates with a minimum grade of A2 in UEC English Language, Band 2 in MUET, 30-31 in TOEFL, 4.0 in IELTS, grade C in O-Level or IGCSE or SPM English 1119, grade B1 (with at least 2 skills at B1) in CEFR, 140 in Cambridge English Qualification, 140 in Cambridge Linguaskill, and 36 in Pearson Test are exempted from SE004 Basic English and SE005 English Foundation. Other equivalent qualification can be exempted on case-by-case basis.
  • Candidates who scored lower than B+ in SPM English Language or than the above requirement will have to take the SE004 Basic English subject before taking the SE005 English Foundation subject in the foundation year.
