UCSI Researchers Ranked Top 2% In The World By Stanford


Four of UCSI University’s researchers have been ranked Top 2% in the World by the 2019 Stanford University List in various research sub-fields. Their outstanding achievements put them at the forefront of their research areas, bringing prestige to the University itself.

They are, namely, Senior Professor Ts Dr Ooi Keng Boon, FASc from the UCSI Graduate Business School in the research subfield of Business and Management; Emeritus Professor Dr Phang Siew Moi, FASc from the Faculty of Applied Sciences in the research subfield of Marine Biology and Hydrobiology; Associate Professor Dr Eric Chan Wei Chiang also from the Faculty Applied Sciences in the research subfields of Pharmacology and Pharmacy; and Professor Dato’ Dr Ng Seik Weng from CERVIE in the research subfields of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry.

The list was created through the analysis of over 150,000 scientists in 22 fields and 176 subfields. The creation of this list was led by Stanford University Professor of Medicine, Dr John Ioannidis. It is based on Scopus which ranks journals and gives citation indexes including H-index scores and co-authorships.

With recognitions such as these, UCSI University continues to make its mark by providing world-class education and high quality research output.
