KUALA LUMPUR: UCSI University has maintained its standing in the world’s top 1% for the fifth straight year after placing 282nd in the QS World University Rankings 2027.
UCSI also placed in the top 300 of the annual varsity rankings for the fifth consecutive year, confirming its status as one of Malaysia’s leading universities.
“Being classified in the world’s top 1% of universities for five years is no mean feat as the global rankings are very competitive,” said UCSI president and vice-chancellor Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir.
“UCSI’s standing reflects the University’s consistent track record in academic excellence, research, global engagement and graduate outcomes. I would like to thank our students, staff, alumni, industry partners and stakeholders for their contributions.
“Moving forward, we will redouble our efforts to expand our global footprint, amplify our research endeavours and strengthen international partnerships.”
UCSI is one of Asia’s top private universities. It has nurtured four Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia inductees and an increasing number of its alumni are launching their own social enterprises.
Famous alumni include Malaysia’s queen of pop Aina Abdul, Astro Awani news anchor Cynthia Ng and award-winning photojournalist Annice Lyn, among many others.
UCSI also empowers many national athletes. National swimmer Khiew Hoe Yean and national diver Bertrand Rhodict Lises represented Malaysia at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
