UCSI University Advances Collaboration with China Partners

KUCHING: UCSI University recently hosted a familiarisation trip at its Kuching Campus for 27 recruitment agents from China, as part of its ongoing strategy to enhance student recruitment and rebuild post-pandemic engagement in the China market.

The visit provided agents with a firsthand understanding of the Kuching Campus, including its facilities, academic programmes and student learning experience.

UCSI University Kuching Campus pro vice-chancellor Mukvinder Sandhu emphasised the importance of the initiative.

“This familiarisation trip is an important step in strengthening our engagement with our China partners. Experiencing our campus firsthand helps agents understand the quality, affordability and personalised support we offer here in Kuching.

“We are committed to working closely with our partners to help more students discover the unique advantages of studying at UCSI Kuching”, she said.

Designed with a structured and informative itinerary, the trip ensured that participants received accurate and practical insights to better guide prospective students.

A key highlight of the programme was a dialogue session with current Chinese students. Participants heard accounts of student life in Kuching, covering internship opportunities, academic progress and personal development.

Students also praised the campus for its peaceful environment, affordability and strong sense of community.

Du Zhuan, an agent from Hebei University, shared that the visit left a strong and positive impression.

“Before coming here, I knew Kuching was peaceful, but seeing the facilities, meeting lecturers and speaking with students gave me a clearer and more confident view of the campus.

“The hands-on hospitality training and the safe, supporting environment make Kuching a very appealing choice. I will certainly recommend this campus to more Chinese students.”

A current Chinese student echoed this sentiment, calling UCSI Kuching one of the best decisions they have made.

“The lecturers genuinely care about us, and the environment allows me to focus on my studies.

Life here is affordable, the people are friendly and I feel very safe and supported. I have never regretted choosing UCSI Kuching.”

The trip represents a meaningful milestone in UCSI’s broader recruitment efforts for both China and East Malaysia.

It further strengthens the university’s commitment to positioning Kuching as a high-quality, affordable and supportive study destination, while reinforcing partnerships with key recruitment stakeholders.

UCSI continues to distinguish itself as one of Asia's leading private universities, maintaining its position in the world's top 1% in the QS World University Rankings 2026.
