UNIVERSITY OF PORTSMOUTH, UNITED KINGDOM VISIT TO UCSI UNIVERSITY


Kuala Lumpur, 25 November, 2011 - UCSI University is pleased to welcome the delegates from University of Portsmouth to the University. Professor Dr Lee Chai Buan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of International Relations and Postgraduate Studies was honoured to host the guests led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Ms Rebecca Bunting and her delegates from the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom. 

The objective of the visit was for further discussions on academic collaborations of mutual interests and benefits, particularly in the fields of applied sciences, business and management, as well as to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Portsmouth and UCSI University. 

The MoU was aimed at promoting study opportunities to suitably qualified students from UCSI University to pursue their studies at the University of Portsmouth on an individual basis with the submission of the Recognition and Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) Application Form. 

Various study opportunities were included as Annexes under the main MoU. The first annexe of this MoU is the admission of UCSI University’s students from Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Accounting and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Accounting and Finance to advance into University of Portsmouth’s final year of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Accounting with Finance, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Accountacy and Financial Management and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Accountancy Studies. 

The agenda also included individual meeting sessions between the delegates of University of Portsmouth and UCSI University for future collaborations where academicians from both institutions hoped to achieve greater understanding on academic experiences related to teaching and learning pedagogies, research, and the pursuit of knowledge sharing.
