Gan Hui Wan
Adjunct Lecturer
As her teaching career started back in 2013, Gan has taught students from all walks of life, and has since then gained valuable insights and experience on the subject. She believes in the importance as an educator to teach in the best way according to each student’s ability and progress - catering to individual needs with an emphasis on creative expressions, music appreciation and mental wellness.
Once a regular performer in both solo and choral singing, Gan has performed in several Media Prima productions, as well as various choral performances in collaboration with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), working with many renowned conductors and soloists in performances such as “Andrea Bocelli Live in KL”, Bizet’s Carmen, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and “Music from Final Fantasy” concert series. Gan is also a member of the Asia Pacific Youth Choir.
Having a broad taste in music, Gan enjoys genres such as pop, folk, jazz, R&B, classical and world music. As a cinephile, she also encourages her students to explore the various worlds and branches of art in order to further expand and improve their artistic tastes and understanding.
Gan holds a Bachelor of Contemporary Music (Hons.) from UCSI University, specialising in Contemporary Voice, with Classical Voice as her minor study, under the tutelages of Winnie Ho and Ian Lim.
