Raised as a KL boy, Melvin Goh is a Malaysian keyboardist that has been performing music professionally since 2011, playing at music festivals, reality television singing contests, local jazz bars and music joints in Malaysia. Playful yet introspective, his musical style reflects his love for jazz, improvised and instrumental music. Following the lead of his passion, he emerged as the winner of the 2nd Malaysian Jazz Piano Competition, 2015.
In August 2016, Melvin released his first original jazz composition "Waltz and Talks" in conjunction with the ‘Sime Darby Arts Festival’ through the guidance of Tay Cher Siang. His diverse influences from contemporary styles of music has allowed him to work with singers such as Juwita Suwito, Zee Avi, Talitha Tan, Clinton Jerome and Evelyn Feroza throughout his performing career. He was also an adjunct lecturer at the faculty of music of UiTM and University Malaya and also conducts musical workshops and trainings.
As of today, Melvin has recently completed his Masters Degree in Jazz Studies at Mahidol University (Bangkok) remotely from Malaysia and is currently working as an adjunct lecturer at UCSI. He has also been actively working with Juwita Suwito to produce and rearrange local Christian contemporary songs under the Malaysian Worship Collective such as “Love Like You Love”, “Hatiku Milikmu” and “Yesus Kristus”.
