KUALA LUMPUR: The School of Information Technology – under the Faculty of Business & Information Science at UCSI University – recently organised an industrial talk titled, ’E-commerce Trends in Malaysia’. 

Open to all UCSI students, the talk was conducted by Mr Alan Kok Kim Lin, VP of Sales, Business Development at Exabytes Ecommerce Sdn. Bhd. Notably, the talk aimed to highlight the exciting world of e-commerce. Mr Alan has shared his vast experience in designing and developing Easystore, a one-stop E-commerce shopping cart solution which allows everyone to sell easily via Website, Facebook, Mobile & Mall. Industry experts like Mr Alan add much value to such events as they provide valuable industry insight to the participants, enabling them to have better understanding of the subject matter. 

During the event, Mr Alan spoke on the latest trends of E-commerce and online payment, and also highlighted the importance of E-commerce in businesses that continuously seek to establish competitive advantage in today's competitive marketplace. 

Overall, there was much positive feedback on the talk from the students, who were impressed with the clarity of information provided by the speaker, adding that the talk had helped to enhance their understanding of what they had learned in the classroom. Besides, the students have the chance to talk and ask the expert pertaining utilizing the E-commerce website for online tradings. Indeed it is only through such experiences that students are able to apply their classroom theories to the workplace.
