Industrial Visit to ABB Malaysia Sdn Bhd


The industrial visit to ABB Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Subang Jaya was organised by the IEEE UCSI Student Branch and was co-organised and attended by Head Of Mechanical Engineering Department Assistant Professor Dr Lim Wei Hong, IEEE UCSI Student Branch Chair Harry Hoon Jian Wen and Assistant Professor, IEEE RAS Malaysia Chapter Vice Chairman and IEEE UCSI Student Branch Counsellor, Dr M.K.A. Ahamed Khan.

The half a day trip saw more than 35 students from various engineering disciplines participating. During the visit, students not only experienced the industry working environment, they also learned how the main distribution control switch panel was manufactured, tested and supplied for the outside market.

The core value behind Robots in industries of manufacturing and automation area was well received by the students. They also had hands-on experience in programming the latest robots manufactured by ABB. The visit also provided opportunities for the students to apply for jobs and to do their internship with ABB.
