Modelling Students in "Summer Escapade" Graduation


Kuala Lumpur, 13 May 2009 - UCSI University celebrated the graduation of its modeling students in style, with a catwalk event showcasing graduate students wearing designs from local and international brands. Rebecca Boon Cheng Yeen, Jenny Foh Jie Ni, Queen Adaora Nduji and Salamutu Queen Yunusa showed off their catwalk training and later received certificates for completing the three month modeling course from UCSI University Vice Chancellor and Group President Peter Ng. The event, co-organised by the students of Mass Communications, also featured musical performances by other students.Group President and Vice Chancellor, Peter Ng asserts that modeling and fashion is not all about the glamour and the limelight associated with the industry. “Modeling teaches students to have self-confidence.” He also says that apart from that, modeling also teaches good personal grooming through make-up, hair-care and wardrobe planning that are part of the modules.

UCSI University offers short courses in modeling and fashion for youths who are passionate about the industry, and want to learn more about it. The part-time course is also ideal for those who need to juggle between school or work, as the hours are flexible.  Apart from the short courses, the University also offers a degree programme in Fashion Design with Marketing. The degree programme aims to equip students with marketing and business knowledge that will enable them to create marketable designs.
