Mrs Olivia Chin, the assistant manager of Old Town White Coffee, and the on-duty store manager, in the midst of providing the students with an insightful presentation on the company’s standard operating procedure (SOP).

KUALA LUMPUR: UCSI University's (UCSI) Logistics Student Association (LSA) recently organised a successful industrial visit to Old Town White Coffee in Paradigm Mall, Kelana Jaya. 

A total of 26 students participated in this excitingevent, comprising mostly BA (Hons) Logistics Management students as well as students from other programmes. 

Led by Ms Nur Yashrinie Yaacob from UCSI’s Student Affairs and Alumni division, the industrial visit was an eye-opener for the participants; it was a rare opportunity for the students to be exposed to the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment and to gainfirst-hand experience in retail business management. 

During the visit, Mrs Olivia Chin, the assistant manager of Old Town White Coffee, provided the young visitors with a brief yet insightful introduction on the history of Old Town White Coffee. 

Some notable highlights were mentioned during the session; these include achievements like being the proud recipient of the Star Outstanding Business Award (SOBA) from Malaysia in 2010 and being named International Franchisor of the Year by Franchising Licensing Association of Singapore in 2011. 

Students were also given a tour of the company’s premises and were able to taste the famous Old Town White Coffee beverage. 

The event concluded with a souvenir exchange between UCSI and Old Town White Coffee, and all participants walked away with a handful of goodies.
