Professional Pathway Session and Book Prize Award Presentation


UCSI University, 13 October 2012 - The Accounting and Finance Student Association (AFSA) together with CPA Australia had recently organised the Professional Pathway Sharing Session and Book Prize Award Presentation at UCSI University. 25 participants including three lecturers from the Faculty of Business and Information Science attended the event. The session began with a speech from the Head of the Accounting and Finance programme Mr Jimmy Tam who conveyed the welcome note. “I would like to show my deepest appreciation to CPA Australia for supporting the students in UCSI University,” he said. 

Then, the event continued with a brief overview by the Relationship Manager-Education, Business Development, of CPA Australia, Ms Leong Pui Kuan about the pathway in CPA Australia. Ms Leong highlighted that CPA Australia has mutual recognition agreements with 10 accounting bodies throughout the world. The sharing session opened the eyes of the accounting students about the professional pathway. 

The agenda was then followed by a Book Prize Award presentation to students who excel in academic and also co-curriculum activities. Five students were nominated by the Department of Accounting and Finance based on their academic results and co-curriculum activities. The Book Prize Awards were presented to Chong Woon Yee, Leo Jinyi and Loh Huay Wen from the Accounting programme. As well as Low Shuet Yee and Kuan Chooi Yean from the Accounting and Finance programme. The students were awarded a certificate from CPA Australia and a cash prize of RM200. 

The Department of Accounting and Finance would like to extend its appreciation to CPA Australia for awarding the excellent students and would also like to extend their congratulations to the recipients of the Book Prize Award.
