School Counsellor

Responsibilities
The School Counsellor works closely with the school management in planning and implementing a school-wide counselling system.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
1. Counselling Program, Responsive Services and Individual Student Planning
- To provide direct counselling intervention to students
- To identify, devise and deliver individual/specialised group guidance programmes for students who need additional help in the area of social and emotional development
2. System Support
- By leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, to promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counselling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students
- To adhere to the guidelines stipulated in the Teachers’ Handbook
- To take charge of assessments related to counselling, which includes but is not limited to, Psychometric tests, as required by the school and MOE
- To conduct training for teachers and parents on counselling-related issues
- To adhere to all other matters as outlined in the Teachers’ Handbook.
- To participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations To perform all other duties relating to the above that may be assigned to you by your supervisor from time to time
- To conduct a yearly programme audit to review the extent of program implementation; collects and analyse data to guide programme direction and emphasis, measure results of the school counselling programme activities and share results as appropriate and monitor student academic performance, behaviour and attendance and assist with appropriate interventions
- To perform all other duties relating to the above that may be assigned to you by your supervisor from time to time.
Requirements
- Approved master’s degree or bachelor’s equivalent with a counseling license from Malaysian authorities
