UCSI extends warm welcome to delegation from Hong Kong

KUALA LUMPUR: Recently, UCSI University (UCSI) warmly greeted a delegation from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), comprising 40 students and two assistant professors – namely, Dr Peter K.C. Lee and Dr Anthony K. W. Pang.

Organised by the University’s Faculty of Business and Information Science (FoBIS), the programme was supported by students in the Logistics Student Association (LSA) under the guidance of the Head of Logistics Department Ms Siti Norida Wahab.

Selecting UCSI out of other universities in Malaysia, PolyU was keen to understand UCSI and discuss potential collaborative efforts with its academics, especially in terms of courses and culture, to name a few.

The visit also provided the ideal platform to exchange knowledge in the logistics industry between the two institutions.

FoBIS deputy dean Prof Dr Leo Jocelyn Fredericks kicked off the event with an insightful welcome speech, followed by a brief session on UCSI’s logistics programmes by Ms Siti Norida.

One of the highlights during the event was an interesting presentation – on the global supply chain in Malaysia and future growth of the logistics industry – by Mr Lee Joo Han. A student who is currently reading the BA (Hons) Logistics Management programme, Mr Lee was also able to share his personal experience as a UCSI student with the guests.

Nearing the end of the event, LSA president Mr Salameh Zeyad Al-Alem gave a closing speech, explaining the club’s objectives and highlighted various activities that its members had participated in and organised.

Guests were served light refreshments after the event and were able to try a popular Malaysian beverage known as teh tarik before they left for home.
