UCSI promotes interest in nursing programmes with workshop and career talk

KUALA LUMPUR: UCSI University (UCSI) recently organised a simulation workshop and nursing career talk targeted at students who would be sitting for their SPM exams later in the year.

Organised by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), the talk was held in the Nursing Clinical Skill Centre (NCSU) at the University’s School of Nursing. It was attended by 35 students from SMK Slim River, Perak, accompanied by four teachers.

To promote interest in the nursing programmes offered at UCSI, senior nursing students and the head of School were seen sharing their experiences regarding the programme during the talk.

The floor was also opened to the students to ask questions to know more about what the nursing programmes has to offer.

They also had the opportunity to try their hands at taking blood pressure, taking vital signs and doing health assessments. More interestingly, they were given the chance to role-play on attending emergency situations and were allowed to perform certain procedures in the NCSU with the tutor’s observation and guidance.

At the conclusion of the talk, several students expressed their interest in signing up for a Diploma in Nursing after their SPM exams.
