UCSI students recently visited NTT DATA Payment Services, where they were challenged to develop digital solutions that rethink how finances are tracked, understood and managed. Participants competed for guaranteed internship offers with the company, along with other prizes.
The winning team - Sharwin Rajan (19) and Teh Ling Yun (20) - developed a hyper-personalised financial tracking planner powered by Google AI Studio. Their solution used AI to make personal finance management less rigid by helping users build customised financial habits and automate everyday tasks.
The second winning team - Choong Wing Hao (21) and Lee Ze Kai (24) - built a dashboard app using Google Gemini that helps small businesses track performance and simplify income reporting, making financial management more accessible for everyday entrepreneurs.
The students shared that they are excited about the opportunity to intern at a leading payment solutions provider in Asia, gain insight into large-scale operations, and work on hands-on projects that will help them build resilience and industry experience.
