UCSI University and Leon Fleisher Academy Unite in Unforgettable Piano Concerto Festival

KUALA LUMPUR: UCSI University has collaborated with the distinguished Leon Fleisher Academy for the first time, presenting a Piano Concerto Festival that showcased the power of collaboration and artistic exchange.

This event, held at UCSI University’s Recital Hall, united two soloists from UCSI University and six from the Leon Fleisher Academy alongside the UCSI Festival Chamber Orchestra, learning and inspiring each other.

“This festival represents the best of both of UCSI’s values, to nurture artistic excellence and promote international engagement,” said Dr P’ng Tean Hwa.

“We look forward to further deepening this relationship and continuing this inspiring journey together.”

For UCSI student Esther Leong Yuan, one of the participants in the exchange, the experience inspired her to re-evaluate her outlook on music.

“What impressed me most about the Leon Fleisher Academy students was their incredible musical maturity, considering the youngest pianist was only 12,” remarked Esther.

“Their depth of expression and sensitivity reminded me that artistry isn’t bound by age, and it inspired me to approach music with a renewed sense of curiosity and openness.”

The Piano Concerto Festival also reaffirms UCSI’s commitment to elevating the music industry and solidifies its position as Malaysia’s leading music school, committed to academic excellence and artistic growth.
