KUCHING: UCSI University held their A-Level annual Graduation and Award Day at their Sarawak Campus recently. 

A total of 40 students attended the ceremony along with parents and staff of UCSI University. The Chief Operating Officer of UCSI University Sarawak Campus officially commenced the event with a speech to congratulate all graduating students and stressed the importance of getting ready for the next step in their lives. This was stressed further by Mdm Mukvinder Sandhu, the Programme Coordinator of Centre for Pre-U Studies (CPU), indicating the all-important awareness of getting themselves ready for university, being able to hone important skills such as communication and leadership skills, indicating that this would be the focus for 2013. 

The awards of the day included the Best Achievement and Most Improved Student, followed by awards to the winners of the CPU Talent Show and Badminton Competition. Graduates from the English Enrichment Programme also received their certificates from the centre to acknowledge their efforts in trying to improve in the language. 

The highlights of the event included performances by the winners of the CPU Talent Show “grooving” on the music with their freestyle dancing moves and a song from the CPU team, Mr Azizan. 

The Parent-lecturer interviews marked the end of the event. The session allowed parents to have a better insight into their children’s progress allowing strategies to be developed in order to better help students’ achievements at CPU.
