Kuching, 16 March, 2012  -  UCSI University students of the Commerce Club and Bowling Club have organized the inaugural Sports Carnival for UCSI University Sarawak Campus.

The students are deeply grateful to have received support from Penghulu Tan Heng Kee as sponsor for this first ever sports carnival organised by the Commerce Club. Penghulu Tan will be the guest of honour for the event to be kicked off this 17 March.

"The purpose of this carnival is to increase the awareness of health among staff and students. Most of the us nowadays have actually neglected the importance of execirse or sports to keep ourselves healthy" said the chairperson of the carnival organising committee, Toh Tze Kang, a final year student. "Apart from that, we also hope to build good rapport among staff and students through this carnival" Toh added.

Competitions for this sports carnival include badminton competition on the 17 March 2012 at the Sarawak Blind Centre, Jalan Ong Tiang Swee; the Bowling Competition on 21 March 2012 at the Crystal Bowl, BDC; and Basketball Competition on 24 March at the Kota Sentosa Basketball Court. All these competitions are open to all the staff and students of UCSI University Sarawak Campus.

UCSI University, Sarawak Campus houses the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) and Pre-U Centre. This campus provides niche programmes to train all its students in many areas of hospitality and tourism as well as hone their management skills and teamwork.
