A diplomatic meeting at the Embassy of Malaysia to the Republic of Kazakhstan, alongside a visit to Astana International University, focused on strengthening strategic institutional cooperation. One of the key discussion points was the prospect of establishing a full-fledged branch campus in Kazakhstan.
A concrete agreement has been reached to implement a “2+1” academic model. A phased roadmap for the educational programmes has been outlined, with the launch of the Foundation programme identified as the first critical milestone. The institutions confirmed their readiness to admit the first cohort within the current year, with preparatory groups potentially arriving and commencing their studies as early as June.
The second phase will involve a full intake of students into degree programmes in 2027. This gradual academic integration will culminate in the official opening of UCSI University’s branch campus, hosted at Astana International University, following the completion of the initial Foundation programme by the first cohort.
