Dr. Garry Tan Wei Han joined UCSI University in 2020 as an Associate Professor. Prior to joining UCSI University, he was an Associate Professor and Co-director of Centre for Data Science and Analytics at Taylor's University and also an Assistant Professor and Chairperson of Centre for Business and Management at Universiti Tuku Abdul Rahman. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy from Asia e University (Malaysia), Master of Science in Management from the University of Edinburgh (United Kingdom) and a Bachelor Degree in Economics (Hons) from University Malaya (Malaysia). Additionally, he was also the university nominee for the Anugerah  Akademik Negara (National Academic Award) organized by the Ministry of Education Malaysia for category 'Anugerah Penerbitan Makalah Jurnal'  in 2015 and 2019 and 'Anugerah Ahli Akademik Harapan' in 2016 and 2019 which accords the highest recognition to academic staff who have contributed in the advancement of education and the national development. In addition, Garry was also the  former SiRC Visiting Scholar at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore (2013-2014). Further, he was also the top 30 finalists for the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysian award by Junior Chamber of Commerce International Malaysia in 2013. His profile was also selected for inclusion in the Marquis’ Who’s Who in the World for the 2016 edition which profiles approximately 55,000 of the most accomplished persons in 215 countries. His research focuses on understanding the diffusion of mobile technology in organisations and society from various marketing perspectives. To date, he has published over 50 papers which appeared in leading academic journals such as International Journal of Mobile Communications (Clarivate Analytics; SSCI), Industrial Management and Data Systems (Clarivate Analytics; SCIE), Online Information Review (Clarivate Analytics; SSCI), Telematics  and  Informatics (Clarivate Analytics; SSCI),  Expert  Systems  with  Applications (Clarivate Analytics; SSCI), Computers in Human Behavior (Clarivate Analytics; SSCI), Technological Forecasting and Social Change (Clarivate Analytics; SSCI), Tourism Management (Clarivate Analytics; SSCI) and Journal of  Computer Information  Systems (Clarivate Analytics; SCIE; SSCI). 

His research work has also been identified in 2015 as the "Most Critical 50 Highly Cited Paper" in Technology Acceptance Research based on an article published by Springer Link (http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s11192-015-1749-5). The ranking was based on the citation network constructed from a total of 1555 journal articles published from 1989-2014 using Clarivate Analytics' (WOS) database.  Since 2016 he has  been rated as of the world "10 Most Productive and Influential Authors in Mobile Commerce and Applications" in Clarivate Analytics' (WOS) database between 2000-2015 in an article published by Telematics and Informatics (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0736585316301198).   He has also been acknowledged as one of the "Top 3 Authors in the World" in Mobile Commerce (https://revistas.unal.edu.co/index.php/novum/article/view/69425) in 2017, "World's Top 10 Core Authors" in Social Commerce in 2018 (https://www.dropbox.com/s/aagvv6ts0y0su6t/147.pdf?dl=0) and "Top 5 Most Productive Authors in the World" in the area of Mobile Commerce (https://www.dropbox.com/s/whhwn85ni0dis9r/145.pdf?dl=0) in 2019. Garry also serves as a reviewer  of  various international  journals  from  renowned  publishers such  as  Emerald , Sage, Elsevier, Taylor and Francis, IEEE and Inderscience and also sits as an editorial review board member for  Industrial Management and Data Systems (Emerald, SCIE), Tourism Review (Emerald, SSCI), International Journal of Bank Marketing (Emerald; SSCI) and  Internet Research (Emerald; SCIE; SSCI). Further  attest  to  his  academic  commitment  and  achievements,  he is a Certified Trainer by PSMB and  was  also  the  project consultant for the government project signed between Kasetsart University, Thailand and State Railway of Thailand  in  conjunction  with  the  Ministry  of  Transport,  Thailand  of  which  the  project  supports  the  170 Billion Baht of the Royal Thai Government’s investment initiatives on State Railway of Thailand.  As of today, Garry's Clarivate Analytics (H-index) = 19, Scopus (H-index) = 20 while his Google (H-index) = 25.
