Senior Professor Ts Dr Ooi Keng Boon (Dean of UCSI Graduate Business School) and Associate Professor Dr Garry Tan Wei Han have been included among the "World’s 10 Most Productive Authors 2021" in the field of Mobile Commerce. The ranking was based on the bibliometric analysis of 3770 articles published in this field in the Scopus database between 1996 and 2020 as stated in the International Conference on Information Management and Technology (ICIMTech) based on an article by Purnomo, A. et al., (2021) Vol. 1, pp. 813-818, IEEE. "We are extremely humbled and grateful to be listed as the "World’s 10 Most Productive Authors". This would not have been possible without the guidance and support from the UCSI's management team in terms of strategic direction," said the duo. The ranking also shows that Malaysia is currently among the top 10 most productive countries in this research field, alongside China, the United States, Taiwan, India, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and Canada.

Over the last few years, Senior Prof Ooi and Dr Tan have been ranked globally such as among the "World’s 10 Most Productive and Influential Authors in Mobile Commerce and Applications" (2017), "Top 3 Authors in the World" in Mobile Commerce (2017), "World's Top 10 Core Authors" in Social Commerce (2018), "Top Malaysian Author and High Impact Researcher" in "Technology Acceptance Model; Mobile Payment; UTAUT" (2020), "World's Top 2% Scientists" according to a report published by Stanford University (2021) and many others.

The duo said, "We hope that through this global recognition, UCSI will be remembered and positioned as one of the major players in the mobile commerce space.”
