Responsibilities

Academic Excellence

  • Designs, plans, and prepares lesson plans, and submits in accordance with administrative guidelines
  • Prepare material and deliver lessons in accordance to lesson plans and syllabus of the centre
  • Engage in creative and innovative teaching and learning methods
  • Oversees and facilitates the general safety of the classroom environment and its activities
  • Attending to children’s basic needs
  • Designs and maintains classroom climate to include visual aids related to curriculum and age/stage of development
  • Observes and prepares thorough progress report for children on termly basis or as needed
  • Monitors talents, special abilities, disabilities, deficiencies or problems of each individual child, documents issues/concerns as needed and notifies management
  • Promotes and fosters positive discipline and individual development toward fullest potential in the areas of physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth
  • Establishes and maintains a positive interpersonal relationship with all children and colleagues
  • Establishes and maintains a positive interpersonal relationship parents/guardians and keep regular communication with them about children’s behavioural and academic progress
  • Works closely with management, lead teachers and colleagues in enhancement of teaching and learning quality and curriculum development
  • Works closely with management, lead teachers and colleagues to establish academic policies and procedures
  • Maintains accurate and current records of attendance, progress, health, and other related paperwork
  • Record teaching and learning activities in the form of photos or videos
  • Participates in developing enrichment programmes curriculum and syllabus
  • Designs, plans, and delivers enrichment programmes lessons in accordance to curriculum and syllabus
  • Documents records of attendance, progress, and other related paperwork of the enrichment programmes
  • Plans, documents, and organises centre events/celebrations/functions
  • Selects, stores, orders, issues, and records inventory for classroom equipment, material, and supplier
  • Ensure compliance of emergency procedures and protocol
  • Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, centre-sponsored activities, and functions
  • Performs miscellaneous academic-related duties as assigned

 

Business operation

  • Perform duties as scheduled in duty roster during transition
  • Supports childcare duties for nursery, preschool and primary school childcare services
  • Takes part in ensuring the centre’s cleanliness and safety
  • Participates in sales and marketing initiatives of the centre
  • Uses data to inform practice and drive decision-making and instruction at the centre
  • Supports sales and marketing strategies in line with the management direction
  • Supports cost management initiatives in line with the management direction
  • Keeps management informed of the centre’s challenges and problems
  • Makes recommendations concerning the centre’s administration and supervision
  • Maintains of all operation related records and reports as required
  • Understands and solicits support for overall centre’s development
  • Participates in fundraising initiatives for the centre if any

 



Requirements

 

  • Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Can teach in speech and drama or dancing is an advantage
  • Mandarin speaking is preferred
  • Excellent understanding of the principles, curriculum, and pedagogy of early childhood education
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Ability to evaluate teaching and learning effectiveness
  • Excellent interpersonal relations, oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in verbal and written English
  • Tolerance with prolonged and irregular hours
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
