UCSI University: 40 years and counting
UCSI University is a vibrant community of learning and scholarship. At present, more than 15,000
students study at the University. Over the years, students from 120 different countries have studied
here, making the campus a melting pot of culture and diversity. As one of Malaysia’s first private
universities, UCSI University has long impacted the national higher education landscape and the
University continues to do so with over 150 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The University’s academic staff are at the forefront of their disciplines and their views are highly
sought after on major issues; from business to political science. Many of our academics have
extensive experience working overseas and some play advisory roles in public bodies and various
committees. By bringing their experiences into the classroom, our academics cater to an exhilarating

UCSI University has made significant strides in the global academic landscape. Ranked 269th in the QS World University Rankings 2026, the University is among the top 1% of universities worldwide for the fourth consecutive year. In Asia, UCSI is ranked in the top 30 in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026 exercise. Having climbed 15 spots since 2024, the University is ranked eighth in Southeast Asia, improving its continental rank for nine straight years.
UCSI University also leads the way in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, placing in the world’s top 50 for four subjects – the most among Malaysian universities. The four disciplines in the top 50 are Music (24th), Performing Arts (24th), Art and Design (29th) and Hospitality and Leisure Management (47th). Other ranked subjects include Education (Top 150), Petroleum Engineering (Top 150), Business and Management Studies (Top 200), Computer Science and Information Systems (Top 300), Pharmacy and Pharmacology (Top 400), Chemical Engineering (Top 450), Economics and Econometrics (Top 500), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Top 500), Mechanical Engineering (Top 575) and Medicine (Top 650).
Furthermore, UCSI University’s strong track record in university-industry engagement has attracted national attention, with the University entrusted to help reshape Malaysia’s tourism and hospitality industry through education.
Building on its domestic standing as a preferred and trusted education provider, the University is also expanding its international reach.
