Architecture Journey

At my age of 18, after receiving my Malaysian certificate of education, SPM result, I started thinking. Which course should I choose? Which university should I go for? Should I go to a national university? Or a private university.
I kept on searching tonnes of information online and from books. Then I found this ARCHITECTURE. I dived deep into this Architecture and discovered that it is both the process and the product of planning, designing, and constructing buildings or any structures. To me, the uniqueness of the building structures are so amazing like magic and they really impress me very much. For years, I’ve observed architects creating fictional elements from their minds into reality, creating superstructures and skyscrapers that blows off our minds. This is why I am so passionate about discovering more and can’t stop myself from browsing the internet, just to see the photos of buildings.
I started collecting information from my seniors and relatives. For weeks, I’ve been scrolling the phone, watching all the universities videos, advertisements and etc. It is hard for me to decide which university should I choose for my tertiary studies.
One day, I met a counsellor online, and he asked me a few questions. After he knew I was interested in Architecture, he suggested me a few universities. One of them is Ucsi University. I found out that Ucsi University is indeed a famous University for Architectural studies, and I have a senior also chose Ucsi for her studies in Architecture.
So, finally, I came all the way from a small town in the suburbs of Pahang to Kuala Lumpur, to pursue my studies in Architecture, in UCSI University.
I’m a 20 years-old girl, undertaking my first year in Bachelor in Science (Hons) Architecture at UCSI University. I started my Pre-U study in Foundation in Science at UCSI University before I proceeded to my Architectural studies.
Time flies, It’s been two years ever since I made my first step into UCSI University, I know I didn’t make a wrong choice. UCSI University provides myriads of facilities for me. For instance, the gymnasium, basketball court, badminton court, library, computer lab and so on. Additionally, facilities for Architecture school is undeniably well equipped and surpassed my expectations. They even provide an architecture laboratory namely the “make lab” specifically for Architecture students! The students can make their models, woodcrafts and commence their woodwork using cutting-edge technology and the most advanced machines available.
During my semester 1, we had a timber workshop which we were taught to construct a bench from scratch. We learned the function of the tools and the way to use them correctly. We mingled and cooperated well with our classmates.
After taking architecture, I realized UCSI University really changed my life, it is not just a bed of roses anymore. Design is part of architecture. Students always need to improve their design, redo, redo, redo and redo. “Architorture” is the nickname of architecture. Now, I really feel that Architecture kill my time. However, when I see my final achievement in my project, I feel contented and satisfied, for what have I sacrificed even though some of my projects is not that well, but I still cherish the progress. In my opinion, the most important thing is that I am constantly learning and improving myself.

Studying at UCSI is perhaps one of the best choices I had ever made in my life. They provide a good environment for me to study. They provide scholarships for student who are in need. They organize a variety of activity for students to participate. This is UCSI, a platform that nurture seedlings for a better future and a better community. Pursue your object, be it what it will, steadily and indefatigably.
