UCSI University's Traditional Martial Arts for All (TMA4ALL) Malaysia Festival: Unity in Motion
On 25 August 2024, UCSI University's Traditional Martial Arts for All (TMA4ALL) Malaysia presented "Unity in Motion", an event that celebrated the power of martial arts to bring people together and promote inclusivity.
The event featured a sharing session by Tun Nori Abdullah, daughter of former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who shared her personal experiences as a mother of a child with special needs and how martial arts has played a transformative role in their journey.
In collaboration with the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) and IDEAS Autism, TMA4ALL curated a range of interactive activities designed specifically for gifted children, including colouring, puzzle sessions and more.
The afternoon was filled with thrilling martial arts demonstrations by local and international experts from Malaysia, Germany, Croatia, Spain and Ireland, showcasing the disciplines of silat, taekwondo, karate and nihon taijitsu. UCSI University's own students from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences also took to the stage to demonstrate the ancient arts of wushu and tai chi.
Furthermore, martial arts training sessions were held, allowing attendees to try their hand at various martial arts disciplines. A special section was also dedicated to gifted children, where they could learn karate in a safe and tailored environment.
