Course Synopsis
What is food safety? Food safety is generally known as the assurance that food is not detrimental to consumers when prepared and ingested according to its intended use. At present, ensuring food safety is a challenging task and is only possible through the use of various approaches, such as inspections, end-product testing, adhering to various process standards and food safety assurance systems. Especially in the food manufacturing sector, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) are two basic systems that food companies should have. In this course, students will get to learn about GMP and HACCP systems and how they can be used to manage food safety.
