
Overview
Students of this programme will gain a thorough academic and clinical preparation in nursing. With an emphasis on the art of caring for patients with a variety of health problems, this programme paves a strong foundation in basic sciences and nursing theories. Students will acquire solid skills in treating, rehabilitating and educating patients..., their families and communities and upon graduation, be poised to become knowledgeable, competent and compassionate assets to the healthcare profession.
The programme is recognised by the Malaysian Nursing Board (MNB) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), and has a 100% passing rate for the Malaysian Nursing Board examinations.

Academic Requirements
Minimum age to enroll in a nursing programme is eighteen (18) years old.
For Malaysian Candidates
Either one (1) of the following below:
a) Possess SPM/*SVM or **equivalent with a minimum of five (5) credits:
- Credit in Bahasa Melayu / *Grade C in Bahasa Melayu, and
- Credit/Grade C in Mathematics (Elementary/Additional/Modern), and
- Credit/Grade C in Science (General Science/Biology/Chemistry/Physics/Applied Science/Additional Science), and
- Credit in any two (2) other subjects, and
- Minimum Pass in English
b) Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) minimum Maqbul (refer to Appendix 3, Malaysia Nursing Board and Malaysia Midwives Board, Standard Criteria for Accreditation of Nursing Programmes 2025)
c) Community Nurse Certificate; registered with MNB; possess current PC/RON for nurses from MNB; minimum thirty-six (36) months clinical working experience.
d) Assistant nurse, possess SPM, registered with MNB, possess current PC/RON for nurses from MNB, minimum thirty-six (36) months clinical working experience.
For International Candidates
Either one (1) of the following:
a) Possess SPM or **equivalent with five (5) credits (minimum Grade C): IGCSE / “O” Level
- Credit in Mathematics (Elementary/Additional/Modern), and
- Credit in Science (General Science/Biology/Chemistry/Physics/Applied Science/Additional Science), and
- Credit in any three (3) other subjects
For International Candidates:
Attain proficiency in English language with any one (1) of the following exam results:

This programme prepares graduates for a broad spectrum of first-level practice roles in hospital and community health centres. It fosters a commitment to lifelong learning, critical reflective thinking and professional growth. The diploma is internationally recognised and allows graduates to work in any country, subject to registration requirements.
After three (3) years of work experience, graduates will be able to further develop professionally through the Bachelor of Nursing Programme, which will enable the nurses to pursue other expanded roles and different kinds of career opportunities.
