Highlighting alarming statistics from the World Economic Forum and Malaysia Gender Gap Index, the speakers emphasised the urgency of collective efforts across education, industry and government to overcome systemic barriers and biases. Strengthening nasopharyngeal cancer research through knowledge sharing
UCSI University hosted the 13th Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Research Day and 15th NPCSM Annual Meeting, bringing together experts from across Malaysia. Nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is a rare type of cancer that develops in the nasopharynx, the upper part of the throat behind the nose. NPC often presents with subtle symptoms that can be easily overlooked, such as a painless lump in the neck, hearing problems or nasal issues. To drive research and awareness, the university held six insightful symposiums covering cutting-edge developments in NPC, featuring speakers from the Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Society of Malaysia, NEXTGENE Scientific Sdn Bhd, and various universities.
