UCSI APPLIED SCIENCES LECTURER IN TOP 1% FOR 'AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES' CITATIONS

UCSI University's Head of Department Research and Postgraduate Studies, Faculty of Applied Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nyam Kar Lin has been included in the latest Top 1% for Agricultural Sciences citation list, based on total citations as ranked by Clarivate Analytics.

Previously, Dr Nyam Kar Lin was ranked 5211 (November 2018) and has jumped 1535 spots to 3635 (June 2019), firmly placing her in top 1% in the list.

The placement was based on the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) - an analytical tool that identifies top-performing research and the impact of publications in the Web of Science Core Collection.

UCSI’S MICHELLE SOO DISCOVERS NEW PARASITES; NAMES ONE AFTER THE BANTING TOWN

UCSI University's Aquatic Science Lecturer Dr Michelle Soo Oi Yoon has discovered 14 new species of marine parasites. As a marine taxonomist, who studies marine life, Michelle’s discovery is considered record-breaking in her field of work.

MOHD FADHIL MAJNIS IS NOW A MEMBER OF INSTITUTION OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERS (ICHEME), ENGINEERING COUNCIL UK

Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Built Environment lecturer, Mohd Fadhil bin Majnis from the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering received the Chartered Chemical Engineer qualification on 25th June 2019.

The award was conferred to him by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), Engineering Council UK.

The membership in IChemE makes Fadhil part of a respected learned society with more than 37,000 members in over 100 countries. Chartered Engineers registered with the UK Engineering Council mark a commitment to professional standards exercising responsibilities in an ethical manner as stipulated by the framework of the UK Standard of Professional Engineering Competence.
