KUALA LUMPUR, 6 April 2022 -  UCSI University continues to shine and has been named as one of the world’s top universities for the study of 7 subjects and 1 broad subject, according to the latest edition of the world’s most consulted university ranking, QS World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject 2022.

UCSI University’s best performance is in Performing Arts which ranks 19 in the QS WUR by Subject 2022 from its previous rank of 45, and still maintains the first position in Malaysia.

Hospitality and Leisure Management climbed to 40 from its previous rank of Top 100 and remains in the second position in Malaysia. The University’s Petroleum Engineering subject is currently in the Top 150 in the world, remaining in the number four position in Malaysia while Business and Management studies have climbed into the Top 250 in the world from their previous position in the Top 300.

Subjects that were not ranked previously such as Art and Design; Social Sciences and Management; Chemical Engineering; as well as Medicine are now ranked in the QS WUR by Subject 2022.

The UCSI University’s Art and Design subject has joined the Top 300 in the world and maintains the number three position in Malaysia. The Social Sciences and Management (broad subject category) is ranked in 383 positions in the world. Meanwhile, the Chemical Engineering subject is now ranked Top 400, and Medicine is ranked in the Top 500 in the world.

Of the 7 academic disciplines from UCSI University that are in the 2022 subject rankings, 86% improved their positions in the rankings, 0% decreased, and 14% stayed in the same positions.

In Academic Reputation, UCSI University’s best performance is in Performing Arts, in which it scores 74.4. In Employer Reputation, the university’s best performance came in Performing Arts where it earned a score of 98.1, and in Citations per Paper, Hospitality and Leisure Management is the subject in which UCSI University earned the highest score (84.1).

In H-Index, UCSI University received a score of 59.2 for Business & Management Studies which is its highest-scoring subject for this indicator.
