CONGRATULATIONS TO UCSI SABE ALUMNI!

UCSI’s School of Architecture and Built Environment would like to congratulate Ar. Tan Kwon Chong, Ar. Phyllis Wong and Ar. Tan Kah Chuan for obtaining the Professional Architect title (LAM Part 3 Architect). The three alumni of the Architecture Undergraduate Programme at UCSI have commented that whilst the process was challenging, they were ultimately pleased with their success and that it was a huge milestone for them. The attainment of the Professional Qualification, as well as the maintenance of knowledge comes not only from past and on-going experience, but also serves as the reflection of an individual’s ability to develop accurate, safe and efficient solutions to the practical problems of mankind.

ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS GET CREATIVE, CONTRIBUTING TO COMMUNITY

UCSI University’s Interior Architecture students presented their design studio project at the Pangkor Story House exhibition in conjunction with the Pangkor Island Festival 2019 from 13 to 15 September, 2019.

The Pangkor Island Festival was organised by Oriental Art and Cultural Center (OACC).

WON GOLD MEDAL AT THE ASIA YOUNG DESIGNER AWARDS 2019

• Gold medal for his project ‘Revival of Hope’ in the Architecture category at the Asia Young Designer Awards 2019;
• Won Silver medal at the ARCASIA Student’s Architectural Design Competition 2019 held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

• Currently curator for Kongsi KL
• Founded Little Planet Project Lab in 2015
• Initiated Booku in 2016 - a book space featuring a book reading club, screenings, exhibitions and literature art re-creation engaging readership community.
• Worked at Architron Design Consultants, Malaysia
• Obtained her Professional Diploma in Architecture with merit from University of East London

• Currently working at Weston Williamson & Partners, UK
• Graduated MArchD with Distinction, Oxford Brookes University.
• Architectural Designer with over 4 years professional experience in international residential and hospitality projects across South East Asia, India, China and USA.
• Played key role in award winning projects including National Design Centre in Singapore
• Winning track record in design competitions across Europe

ARCHITECTURE AT ITS BEST IN THE LION CITY

• Currently a Registered Architect under the Board Of Architects Singapore (BOA)
• Experience in contract administration and various scales of local and international projects including Residential and Mixed-Used Development.
• Worked at Dragages Singapore as a Deputy Design Manager.
• Worked at P & T Consultants as a Registered Architect.
• Winner of the Best Attractive Booth Design in the 20^th Architectural Workshop 2008 held at Universiti Sains Malaysia.

• Currently working as a design architect in Australia with CHT Architects – a leading architecture firm in Melbourne.
• Top 15 in the Australian Institute of Architect’s Pratice Prize for Graduating Students, 2015
• Obtained his Master of Architecture with distinction from RMIT University.
• First-prize winner (Exhibition and Installation), Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) Architecture Student Workshop, 2013
• One of UCSI’s many successful architecture graduates.
