Alumni Talk Series 3.0

The Logistics Student Association (LSA) with full support from the Department of Logistics Management, Faculty of Business and Information Science successfully hosted their Alumni Talk Series 3.0. This is the third time this kind of event is being hosted by LSA. The main purpose was to enlighten logistics and supply chain students pertaining to their future paths and to gain some insight from the speakers’ own working experiences.

The event started with welcoming remarks by the Logistics Department head, Assistant Professor Dr Siti Norida Wahab. Four distinguished alumni were invited to this event, namely, James Lim (Business Development Executive, SMT Speedmark (M) Forwarders), Muhammad Nabil (E-commerce Manager, Horsebridge Sdn Bhd), Elizabeth Reima (Logistics Category Sourcing Analyst, BP Business Service Centre (Asia) Sdn Bhd) and Kavi Cheran (Acting Warehouse Manager, Jemco Manufacturing Sdn Bhd.) to share their perspectives in the workplace.

The event started off with a talk by Kavi Cheran followed by Elizabeth Reima, Muhammad Nabil and James Lim. All of the speakers performed excellently in their work and worked hard to be in the managerial positions that they are in now. As they shared their meaningful words of wisdom, more than 250 of students benefitted from this series.

These talks by the alumni brought new insights to students as to what the workplace is all about. They also created a platform for a network and collaboration between current students and industrial partners. Students learnt what it would be like when they approach the work force and what it takes to be in a managerial position in the future. At the end of the session, LSA advisor Bahri Mahmud handed over tokens of appreciation to all speakers. The event ended with an interactive Q&A session and a group photo session.
