Associate Professor Dr Ganeshsree receives two prestigious awards


UCSI University’s Associate Professor Dr Ganeshsree Selvachandran has recently won two prestigious awards – the Venus International Women’s Award (VIWA) 2018 and the i-Proclaim ARA 2017 Award for Publication Excellence.

Acknowledging her seminal contributions in the fields of fuzzy computing, fuzzy algebraic theory, fuzzy logic, AI and machine learning, the two awards are the latest milestone in Dr Ganeshsree’s long list of achievements.

“These awards serve as a validation of my work from my peers and colleagues,” said Dr Ganeshsree who is the deputy dean of UCSI’s Faculty of Business and Information Science. “They give me the motivation to work harder to achieve more in the future.

“I would like to thank my dean, Professor Dr Ooi Keng Boon for his guidance and support. I’d also like to thank UCSI for supporting my research and providing a conducive working environment.”

Conferred by the Centre for Advanced Research and Design of the Venus International Foundation, Chennai, India, the VIWA honours exemplary women from universities and research institutions in the Asia-Pacific region who have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.

The i-Proclaim Award was awarded by the Asian Business Consortium (ABC) which acknowledged Dr Ganeshsree for her hard work and dedication as a young scientist. It also recognised her propensity to advance research in her fields of expertise.

Apart from publishing her research in high impact international journals, Dr Ganeshsree has also presented her findings at various conferences, seminars and colloquiums around the world. She has previously received two Best Paper Awards for the papers she presented at two international conferences.
