Flexi-Van Depot Industrial Visit

On 28^th February 2019, the Logistics Student Association (LSA) of UCSI University had the opportunity to organise an industrial visit to Flexi-Van Depot for students. The Flexi-Van Group’s mission is to provide the most efficient and innovative cost saving option for the management of freight, domestically and internationally, and to build strong, loyal relationships with employees, customers and vendor-partners.

They believe in strengthening and growing the region’s economic possibilities, as well as helping the growth of the local economy. Flexi-Van provides total logistic shipping related services inclusive of NVOCC, Rail, Sea and Air Freight Forwarding Services, Transport, Shipping Agent and Ship Brokering.

Students who attended and experienced this industrial visit gained additional knowledge as compared to what they might have learnt through their lectures. The host, Ms Noorsiah showed the students around; shared with them the usage of each cargo and explained how the business works. Moreover, Ms Noorsiah also emphasised her experiences which benefited the participants tremendously. 

This successful visit was extremely informative and enlightened the students in understanding how the operations take place. The visit to Flexi-Van Depot was also helpful for industry engagement as well as impact and academic outcomes which are relevant to the Logistics and Supply Chain Operation fields. Hence, students were able to increase their knowledge and understanding relevant to their studies at UCSI University.
