The highly acclaimed seminar raised the awareness to promote active participation from different stakeholders towards building an inclusive and sustainable industry by encouraging public-private collaboration in R&D&C&I. De Institute of Creative Arts and Design (ICAD) of UCSI University has collaborated with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia (MOTAC) to launch the inaugural 2023 “We Share the Same Moon” Calendar and Art Exhibition. 365 local artists from various associations in every state have collaborated with UCSI University’s ICAD lecturers and students to create a unique calendar depicting daily moon phases during the Covid-19 pandemic period.
With the MoU officially signed, it marked the beginning of a collaborative relationship between UCSI University and Razak School of Government.
In conjunction with this event, UCSI hosted a forum on Sustainable Higher Learning Education Communities in the Post Pandemic Era, with the Razak School of Government. The panelists were (i) Dr Hj Mohamad Kamal Hj Harun, Chief Executive Officer, Razak School of Government, (ii) Distinguished Professor Tan Sri Dr Zakri Bin Abdul Hamid, Director of Institute of Science Diplomacy and Sustainability, UCSI University and (iii) Professor Dato’ Dr Ahmad Bin Ibrahim, Coordinator of Tan Sri Omar STI Centre for Policy Studies
UCSI received delegations from Trisakti University Indonesia led by Prof. Dr. Kadarsah Suryadi (Rector) with three other delegates namely Mr. Heru Sanusi (Vice Rector on Student Affairs), Dr. Agus Guntoro (Director of International Affairs, International Office) and Dr. Amalia Zuhra (Head of International Affairs, International Office). The fruitful discussion for collaboration paved the way for the MoU signing which consolidated the endeavours for research and academic exchanges between both universities. UCSI University discussion members were headed by Professor Datuk Ir Ts Dr Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir, Vice – Chancellor and Professor Datuk Dr Rohana Binti Yusof, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Internationalisation.
The launch was officiated by Professor Datuk Siti Hamisah Tapsir, CEO of UCSI Group and Vice-Chancellor of UCSI University, together with Academician Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Datuk Dr Omar Abdul Rahman, Council Member of UCSI University and Chair Organising Committee 'Dialog Rakyat for National Cohesion & Unity', Madam Tan Boon Charn, Representative of Cheras Community, Dato’ Dr Abd Halim Mohd Hussin, President of International Counselling Association of Malaysia, Associate Professor Dr Mabel Tan Hwee Joo, President and Chief Executive Office UCSI College, Dr Japareng Lalung, Coordinator Regional Centre of Expertise Penang, Mr Thai Ming Yeow, Buddhist Missionary Society Malaysia, students from Universiti Sains Malaysia and Regional Centre of Expertise Greater Kuala Lumpur (RCE GKL).
The Tan Sri Omar Centre for STI Policy Studies organised a forum on Business Cases for ESG. The speakers, Distinguished Professor Tan Sri Dr Zakri Abdul Hamid, FASc, Dato' Ir A Bakar Jaafar, FASc and Mr Leon Liew Chee Ing shared about how Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is being implemented in business cases. The forum provided insights on the overall of ESG as well as providing an opportunity for the participants to have a networking session with the panellist.
The delegation from UCSI University led by Professor Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir, FASc (UCSI Group Chief Executive Officer & Vice-Chancellor, UCSI University), Mr. Sheikh Fahmy bin Sheikh Mohamed (Vice President, Group Strategy Office, UCSI Group) and Ms. Jennifer Low (Head of International Marketing, UCSI University) had a recent courtesy visit and fruitful meeting with Encik Mohd Radzlan Bin Jalaludin (Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), Chief Executive Officer).
The visit provided both parties the opportunity to discuss the collaborative effort to promote Malaysia as the preferred education hub among international students around the world.
The EMGS CEO was accompanied by Ms. Rahimah Ibrahim (Senior Director, Marketing, Communications & Branding) and Mr. Ang Shao Ting (Director, Digital Branding), Mr. Azhar Bin Mohamed (Associate Director Corporate Strategy) and Mr. Mohd Farha Bin Md Ishak (Senior Manager, International Student Management Services (ISMS) of EMGS).
UCSI University's Residential Hall Association (RHA) and Student Affairs and Alumni (SAA) have jointly organised a Kolam Art Decoration event in conjunction with the upcoming Deepavali festive celebration.
Held at Block A, UCSI University KL Campus on 17 October 2022 from 10 AM to 12 PM, a total of 17 local and international UCSI University students participated in enhancing community spirit as it creates joyous occasions for socialisation and fosters greater harmony.
The Harmony and Unity Week is launched by UCSI to promote national unity and social harmony as desired and inspired by the Rukun Negara, based on the principles of collective responsibility and the consistency paradigm.
In conjunction with Harmony and Unity Week, UCSI, together with its partners, organised various activities and programmes.
3919 students officially participated in a procession at the convocation ceremony in the presence of UCSI University’s Pro-Chancellor, Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Zain Al-’Abidin Ibni Tuanku Muhriz; Council Chairman, Dato’ Peter Ng; and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ir Ts Dr Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir, FASc, and witnessed by the audience of graduating students and their family members.
