UCSI University is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
This partnership marks a significant platform for UCSI to share Malaysia's developmental expertise, contributing to the socio-economic transformation of Russian citizens.
Additionally, the collaboration harnesses Russia's expertise in scientific and mathematical research, emphasising the critical importance of STEM disciplines. This will empower Malaysian youth to realise their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the nation's advancement.
The International Institute of Science Diplomacy and Sustainability hosted a two-day programme for 60 participants from Ranepa University, Russia. The programme also included senior officers participants from governmental agencies and governmental-linked corporations. A MoU signing ceremony also took place, further cementing the partnership between UCSI and Ranepa University.
On April 20, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UCSI University hosted its "Mini Carnival 2024," an event focused on fostering learning, creativity and community interaction. The carnival included a diverse programme, featuring industry talks on community pharmacy, diabetes management and safe medicine disposal.
On April 5, UCSI University and Sunway Multicare Pharmacy signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to foster collaboration in academic and professional development. The partnership aimed to provide students with enhanced learning experiences and career growth opportunities through industry placements and educational excursions.
UCSI Breadboard welcomed Shin Yi Saw and Rex Yeap from Tencent Cloud International to discuss empowering startups in building, growing, and scaling their businesses. Additionally, UCSI Breadboard formalised a memorandum with JS'ON, a coffee startup supported by Tencent Cloud and founded by Jason Wong, a UCSI University alumnus.
On March 29, UCSI University and PMG Pharmacy signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to collaborate on academic and professional development initiatives. This partnership following the signing aimed to provide students with valuable opportunities to enhance their learning experiences and career prospects through industry attachments and structured visits.
On the 22nd of March, students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Liberal Arts organised NEXTALK: Leaders of Tomorrow, a day-long event from 10 am to 5 pm. The event featured a panel discussion with Cynthia Ng, Asst Vice President and Anchor at Astro Awani, and Sanadt Kumar, an International Award-Winning Documentary Filmmaker.
Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a sharing session by Annice Lyn, a Documentary and Sports Photographer, and Co-Founder of Women Photographers Malaysia. Workshops included a videography workshop titled “Capture Moments Through the Lens” by Divendran Baskaran, a Video Lead at Cilisos Media Sdn Bhd, and a VR workshop – “Think Digital” by William Chow, the Director of HiveTec.
The event aimed to inspire and empower students by providing insights from accomplished leaders in various fields, fostering a spirit of leadership and innovation among the participants.
On March 20, 2024, UCSI University Springhill celebrated the launch of its Post-Basic Critical Care Nursing (CCN) Programme and the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM). The event featured speeches by Yang Berbahagia Puan Devi, Director of Nursing from the Malaysia Nursing Board, and Dr Vicknesh Krishnan, Vice President of the Healthcare Division from the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council.
The launch highlighted the strategic synergy between the new CCN programme and UCSI's healthcare initiatives, aiming to elevate healthcare services. Additionally, the event showcased UCSI's commitment to establishing Springhill as a leading hub for medical tourism as part of the UCSI Health Metropolis. This dual launch event exemplified UCSI's dedication to fostering talent that will drive innovation and excellence in both the healthcare and hospitality sectors.
The event concluded with a tour of UCSI Hospital and the cutting-edge nursing lab, providing attendees with a firsthand experience of the advanced facilities and educational resources available.
On March 4 2024, a food security forum took place, focusing on an open and constructive conversation to identify challenges in implementing policy instruments. This involved defining good project design, minimising duplication and avoiding overlapping functions to optimise resource utilisation while meeting stakeholders' expectations. Panellists from the government, private sector and academia shared their expertise and experiences to introduce innovative approaches in achieving Malaysia's objectives for attaining food security.
