Public Talk On How To Get The Job

UCSI University’s Logistics Student Association (LSA) invited Christopher Choong to give a public talk to logistics and supply management students. The purpose of this talk was to help students be prepared for job interviews. Choong shared a lot of his experiences on interviewing for a job. Even though he is a field marketing manager at DELL Global Business Centre, he likes going for different interviews, as he believes through these interviews, he can be more knowledgeable, he can keep learning and also know how much he is worth.

Choong shared with students the do’s and don’ts of an interview. Additionally, he showed students how to organise their resume as the first page of resume is the most important. He advised that it is very crucial to give a good impression by summarising your strengths and experiences in one paragraph on the first page. Furthermore, he also taught students how they should present themselves during an interview session, what questions should be asked and what kind of answers could differentiate oneself from other candidates.

With 15 years of working experience across Dell Malaysia, Choong started from New Product Introduction, Quality, Customer Care, Online Business Development and PA to General Manager. His most recent role was managing the South Asia Brand for Inspiron and XPS. He is also speaker for Toastmasters International events and a motivational speaker for many other companies and social groups.

Choong’s presentation was very helpful and motivational as he shared his knowledge with students. There was good feedback from the students and they are looking forward to having another session with him.
