Revelry at KT Campus

Kuala Terengganu24 September, 2012 - In celebration of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's 80th National Day, Saudi Arabian participants of the Intensive English Programme gave the KT campus community a treat of sweet cakes by throwing a lunch time impromptu party yesterday at the campus canteen.  Joining them at the one-hour celebration was Mr Mshaal Fahad, Academic Advisor of the students' sponsoring institution and Ms Margaret Soo, Head of UCSI English Academy, teachers, faculty and staff members as well as interns and students who were entertained with Arabian cultural songs and who partook in group dancing, making the lunch time celebration all the more merrier.  Khalid Salem Al-Qahtani, speaking on behalf of his class, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the teaching team for allowing them the opportunity to celebrate what was a public holiday in their country where most cities and towns had planned festive carouses and ceremonies to mark their country's 80th national day anniversary.  Over the weekend the teaching team and students took off to Pulau Perhentian on a self-sponsored trip to learn about marine conservation, experience deep sea snorkeling and participate in a turtle watch.  Blessed with perfect weather and appreciation of cultural diversity, the island trip proved to be one international student experience that most on board would cherish for a long time.
