KUALA LUMPUR: Last week, the School of Information Technology - under the Faculty of Business & Information Science at UCSI University - organised a talk titled "E-commerce and Online Payment". The talk was attended by approximately 30 UCSI University students from various programmes - such as Computing, Accounting and Finance and Electrical & Electronic Engineering, to name a few. 

The talk provided an excellent platform for the students to enrich their learning experience as the School had invited an industry expert - namely, Mr Azizul Othman, Business Development Manager of MOLPay Sdn Bhd - as the speaker. 

Industry experts like Mr Azizul add much value to such events as they provide valuable industry insight to the participants, enabling them to have better understanding of the subject matter. 

During the event, Mr Azizul spoke on the latest phenomena of E-commerce and online payment, and also highlighted the importance of E-commerce in businesses that continuously seek to establish competitive advantage in today's competitive marketplace. 

Overall, there was much positive feedback on the talk from the students, who were impressed with the clarity of information provided by the speaker, adding that the talk had helped to enhance their understanding of what they had learned in the classroom. Apart from that, the students had the opportunity to interact with and ask the expert for advice in relation to their project: To build an E-commerce website for real-life clients. Indeed it is only through such experiences that students are able to apply their classroom theories to the workplace. 

The talk ended with a 'Question and Answer' session, where students were given rare opportunities to direct questions on the topic to Mr Azizul, who rewarded active participants with freebies.
